Consolatrix Academy, as it is called before,is a Catholic institution owned and managed by the Congregation Augustinian Recollect Sisters.Its aspiration for quality education since its foundation proves its willingness tomove forward by the whole School Community. The former administration experienced this development were determined to make innovation in their teaching apostolate. It comtinaully stives for excellent services to all its clientele.
The school was founded in a very humble way of responding to the need of the Church throungh an innovationfrom parish priest of the place and bishop of the diocese. Encourage by the parishioners to open a school for the religious and moral development of the youth in Toledo City in 1958, Father Leonardo Arriba throungh the advise and guidance of Most Rev. Julio Rosales, Archbishop of Cebu, requested the Congregation of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters to undertake this noble task. Aftercompying all the requirements of the Bureau of Private Schools classes started in June 1961, with 129 high school students. The first Superior/Principal was Sor Dolores deSagrado Corazon, A.began to operate servingthe local community taking the goal: "To carry the religious and moral upliftment of the youth."
In 1998, Consolatrix Academy changed its name toConsolatrix College of Toledo City. That year it found the school moving forwardin the service of the locality.It has opened the College Department offering the folllowing courses: Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), major in English and Mathematics (recognition, 2002); Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED), major in English, Mathematics and Science (recognition, 2002); and Two-yearCourse Associate in Computer Secretarial (ACS) (recognition, 2001). The following year, the ACS program was realigned to Associate in Computer Technology (ACT), which has aladderized curriculum leading to Bachelor ofScience in Computer Science (BSCS), Information Technology(BSIT) and Information Management (BSIM).
With the number of years of the school existence, theschool contributes to the country's educational goal.The extent of its contribution is still on the process of evaluation. To fulfill its own educational goals it has taken seriously the situation of the Philippine EducationalSystem and blend human culture with the message of salvation. As proclaimers of the Good News of salvation, the school and its contituents identify themselves with the less fortunate ones and distinctively witness to their charism.
The school as Catholic institution follows the Christian philosophy of education that is based on the Catholic philosophy of life at the time true to the beliefs, its original inspiration and the educational thoughts og its founders and its institutional goals.
